We did’ it! We’re married; thanks to God everything turned of alright, a lot better than we expected. There were a lot of awesome people that God sent to help. You know? God is really faithful to do all that he tells us, all His promises. He promises us; to have each other, to provide for us, to give us a plan for our lives, and to send us to the Nations (into all the World). He never forgets his word.
Have you ever heard this song?
Jesus you are my good friend
you are not alone,
nothing will ever change that… (From Hillsong)

So, nothing can change his plans in our lives, we can forget his word, you can forget his promises, and to do all the things He told you, however HE will NEVER change. Don’t be afraid about; the time, the money, the problems, etc… His plans are good, and are better then anything else you could plan, and they are for ever. His plans are not for just a moment, but they are like marriage, we are married with Him for all our lives, physically and spiritually. We are his creation with a special purpose so enjoy it.
We’re anxious to see and live out His plans for us, we are waiting to see what those plans are and to see what He will do, this our Creator. We’re really gratefully to be a part of his plans, we can see in His purpose in us and everything we do.

Thanks’ for you’re prayers, gifts and economical help.

The Start of Spring 2008

And time flies,

We have been very busy these last few days and weeks. About three weeks ago we started looking for various ministries, organizations, agencies, and churches to help in the exhortation, and capitation of missions and at the same time to help promote the Christian University in San Luis Potosi.

We had an invitation to speak at a YWAM base in Pachuca for the 5th and 6th of this month, and with out doubt we made new friends and more contacts. We asked one of the students in the University (Patty) to go with us, so we would not be alone. What we didn’t know was that she had a sister about two hours down the road in the city of Querétaro and that their big brother was getting married so instead of one person going with us we also had her sister and two cute little boys go with us. Which helped with our coasts on the road. We were also able to go to the civil wedding of the family and past some time with everyone. It was a great time and we were able to make new friends.

From there we went directly to Pachuca, it took a little extra time being as none of us had ever been there before, and we were taking our time so as not to get lost, anyway we did end up getting lost a little but we made it safe and sound. It was a great blessing to serve at the YWAM , and to teach the youth from various churches to complete the Great Commission. On getting back to San Luis we found that we had more emails wanting us to go and teach in there churches. It will also enable us to visit new places and different states here in Mexico. We have loved being able to share what God has put in our hearts and our passion for missions.

Travel, Travel, Travel,

Along with everything else we had been asked by the youth pastor to to help with a trip to Zacatecas to help an orphanage. On the start of the next day both the youth pastor and one of the main leaders were both very sick, they both needed to stay and rest so they were not able to return to San Luis (which was four hours away.) We were asked to take the youth back to San Luis. Since that day the youth pastor has made it a point to invite us to all the youth events, he has also asked us to be leaders in the youth group. On the 30th of April is the day of the child, it’s a holiday for children. We are hoping to get a team together to return to the orphanage to have a big, BIG party for the kids!

With all of the trips we have made we have been a little tired physically and financially, without doubt every time we are able to share we are blessed and our souls are lifted which makes us want to teach and do more. From April to June we will be traveling to many different many places, Zacatecas, Querétaro, México, Puebla, Monterrey, Pachuca, Tampico, Tamuin, DF, Torreón, Oaxaca y Chiapas, working with the youth in exhorting, and teaching in different Missions conferences.

PRAY:

That God would guard us in all of our trips, and that He would continue to provide for each of our needs that we may have during the trips we have planed to each state and city, also that God would guard our health.

For our Wedding in the first part of Fall, that God would provide for all of our needs and that He would guide us in our marriage.

Also that God would give us a heart that longs to hear His voice, and that He would go before us and prepare the way.

Feb. newsletter

Thank you for your prayers,

They have been a real blessing. Personally there have been many changes until now, a change in location, also a huge change in culture. I would never have thought that the culture could change so much. Things like words what they mean, actions, and education changes everything. Think about it when you come to visit.

The language is the same as Honduras as to the fact that it is Spanish, however it is hugely different. In San Luis Potosi about 80% of the populous are people that have a higher level of education most have some college, if not college degrees. Thus the vocabulary is at a higher level, it is more professional then the normal vocabulary of Yamaranguila, once again I find myself learning the language all over again. I have had the opportunity during this short time to identify some differences in the culture and to learn some of them, in learning the culture it will enable me to be able to understand and better serve the people of Mexico.

I have the privilege to be working with people that have had many different backgrounds in ministry. Some are from Germany others from the US and others from here in Mexico. We make a group that is very interesting, everyone has a different personality and different talents that enables us to make a complete body.

The church here Agua Viva (Living Water) has received me with open arms. The pastors actually know some of my California family and they have been very kind. God has given me a lot of favor with the church here. On the 27th of January I started singing with the Praise team. The church has two services, one at 8:30 AM for the foreigners that speak English, some are misionaries, others work for various copanies that are here in the city, it is also a way that the no-christian foregners can be reached. The other service at 11:00 AM is for the Spanish speaking people.

The greatest thing that could happen to a man!

Sahara and I are planning our future together! The 14th of February I told her that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, then I asked her if she wanted to do the same? After the emotional shock of seeing the ring and hearing the question she responded YES!!! Now we are planning a wedding and trying to get all the information and paperwork that we need so we will be able to be married. Please pray for us, because the next few months to come we are making decisions for our life together and God’s ministry through us. Over the next few months we will be having extra expenses; things like a trip to an indigenous group, among other missions trips, the wedding, also extra costs due to paperwork that has to be done to get married, as well as just the normal monthly expenses. God is calling us and it is time to expand our ministry. We know without a doubt that this is the will of God for our lives. God is speaking with us and calling us to serve in specific areas in missions.

Pray for Us:

God has promised us that we would have everything we need, in the time that we need it, and we have a God that completes His promises.

As Always for Financial needs.

In peace we wait with confidence for the provision of God. For He is Jehovah Jireh our Provider.

That God would give us grace with the people we work with and that we would be His instrument that He has called His hands and feet.

Thank you for all of your support, I would love for you to write me and let me know how you are and what God is doing in your lives.

As many of you know I have just made a long 36 hour drive from Honduras to Mexico. During this long drive I was greatly greeted by many beautiful sights. Leaving from the colonial town of Copan Ruinas, passing all the way though Guatemala and all the way to the mid north of Mexico. On the road I found so many different places and sights. From a town with cobble stone roads to the highway, from places where you wonder if anyone has ever lived there to the desert or the lakes. From the land of the Mayan to the land of the Aztecs, the sights changed every time you blinked. To see wonderful mountain views flowers the sun rising and setting the same day. I ask that you close your eyes and think on these. Then I have to ask the big question of WHY? Why did God make all of these things? Why did he make the mountains? Why did God make millions of different types of flowers, trees, animals, fruit, and foods? Why? The only reason that I can think of or find in scripture is that it’s all for LOVE. He loves us sooooo much that He made a mandarin to eat while smelling it and all just to enjoy it. He loves us!!!! Sometimes we wonder does anyone love me, and again the answer is an emphatic YES! He does! He loves us so much that He gave His only son! John 3:16 The scripture refers to Jesus as not only the only one and true way to God but as our bride. As well as it also refers to God himself as our lover! So you know that this God thing is not anything that is just going to pass by and be gone. That he longs for a relationship with us. Driving along the highway and seeing all the beautiful sights that he created just so I would stop and say wow! How much my God loves me that he made all of these things just so I would be happy! All I can say is thank you God and I love you! Please remember to stop and take the time to enjoy the things God has made for us to take pleasure in. Tell Him thank you and how much you love him.

For the next four months I will be working in a discipleship school in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The church named Agua Viva (Living Water) were a long time friend and missionary is serving as well Ted Flynn. While here I’ll be working on various projects with the discipleship school.

In September I had the honor of attending my grandfather’s celebration of Eighty five years of life. Seeing all of my family gathered around him helped not only show me how he has impacted my life but made me think of the upbringing of my father, aunts, and uncles. How each of them are serving God in their own way. There has not passed a morning in my childhood and still today that I have seen my grandfather spend time in the word. I remember waking up those mornings that I stayed with them to find him already half way through his day and taking time to read the word and better understand Christ. I now see the fact that had it not been for him I would not be what and who I am. So in this I wanted to thank him for everything he has done.

Going back to Honduras, I want to share the new projects our ministry has taken on. The projects have all been aimed at one place: “The Invasion”.“The Invasion” is a plot of land where some people had gotten together and decided that the owner was not using it so they invaded it! However these people are the one’s that had no homes that were renting and or did not have the monthly income to rent. Thus the standard of living is very poor. As you can see here; one of the normal houses found in the invasion, this is Jimmy’s house. Jimmy is a three year old boy that has three older sisters plus his mom that lives there. On arriving to the “invasion” we met Jimmy he seemed to be the same as any other carefree three year old, however just lacking the influence and love of a man. He started talking to me asking all kinds of questions, were we coming to live with them, did we have toys, how old was I, did I have kids, just about anything you could think that an inquisitive three year old boy would ask. We told him that we were there to build him a new house. He got all excited and started helping move rocks and just about anything he could think of to help. Talking with Jimmy I found out many things, like how the family struggled daily trying to feed them selves to if they were cold at night. (Right now, just like it’s winter here it is there too.) Just to see the look in Jimmy’s eyes when I would stop and talk with him it was well worth it. To see his little eye bright up to the fact that a man was spending time with him and putting importance on the things that he liked, every time I go out to the invasion I play with Jimmy. I may be selfish in doing it just to see his little face and eyes but you know I keep thinking to our heavenly father. To think how much he just wants to spend time with us. How much of a joy it is to him that we would stop and talk to him, to say daddy I need you, daddy I need help, daddy I love you! What it means to Christ that has been waiting for his bride for more then two thousand years. Waiting for us no matter what we do.

The Bride of Christ!

In the book of Revelation there are many different scriptures referring to the bride of Christ. As I was talking to my sister the other day, I was telling her how I had planed to be in Mexico with Sahara (my girlfriend) these three months (my trip has been postponed until the end of Jan.) It has been a little hard for me. I miss her very much. As I was telling my sister this she said she had just had a vision about the bride of Christ. That how much more was Christ longing or missing his bride. I told her that for the first time in my life I can understand the aspect of the bride of Christ. I know how much I miss my love and thinking about it.

Rev. 5 As a young man marries a maiden,
so will your sons [c] marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.

How much more is Christ missing us as His bride? How much is He longing for that day to come that He will return for His lost bride? I heard my sister say those words but I was seeing something else. What I saw was Christ standing in front of his bride, and talking to her, waving at her, and trying everything he could to get her attention. However he tried she never reacted or even saw him, but more so I felt that she was ignoring him. I then realized how many people all over the world had heard God’s word, the gift of His Son and NEVER responded. How many people may have even looked at Him with out understanding and chose not to acknowledge Him. It’s sad when you think about it. I have many friends that are and have been in the mission that have given their time, work, prayers, money, and their lives breath to see that the world is reached. I know that for many it seems that it is a loosing battle, that they are never blessed in seeing the fruit of their labors. However I can tell each and everyone of them to hold strong, fight the good fight, and to carry on. If Christ can stand there for thousands of years waiting for His bride, how much more can we work and wait for those around us for the little time we have to wait, the year or to thirty years to see the fruits of our labors. It is hard and at times seems a great trail. However there is great hope for all of us.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12

I can only Hope for mine.
